A SALFORD LAD
Some say he was breastfed developing fluid. Others say that his first words were “Stop down to F8”. But what is true, is that by the age of 16 he was working in a professional photographic laboratory processing images. But this wasn’t good enough for Jay. He wanted to be taking the photographs. And so his passion became his career and he started telling his own stories working as a professional photographer. Today, as a Salford lad he’s stayed true to his roots and he’s based in Manchester.
TOP OF HIS GAME
After establishing himself as a top photographer it was time for Jay to choose what sector he wanted to get into and what he loved the most. He loved all photography but what he really had a passion for was fashion photography. With this in mind we set out to construct Jays logo. Taking inspiration from the big fashion brands out there, the Guccis, the channels, we constructed Jays very own little Monogram using the top dials of the instrument of his trade, his digital camera.
Photography. You could say it’s a religion to Jay, but it’s more important than that. A shard of sunlight. A whisp of smoke. Changing the exposure, tweaking the lighting. There’s a crease in her dress. That person, twelfth from the back needs to look more natural. The dogs must run again, but faster. This isn’t something he plays at. This is creating images with impact. Images that stay with you. Images that tell a story.
