The Importance of Photography for Building your Brand

HAVEN’T GOT THE BUDGET RIGHT NOW SPENT IT ALL ON A LOGO

Everyone knows that when it comes to starting up a new venture every penny counts for business owners, and that’s precisely why you need to spend them where it will make the most impact for your brand.

Images have the power to capture everything your business is and aspires to be. They show the heart and soul of your company, its ethos, principles and values.

WHAT THEY SAY IS GREAT. BUT IT'S WHAT THEY DO THAT COUNTS.

Armed with smartphones every fuka these days seems to be professional photographers. It hurts our soul to see so much poor photography being used by companies in their PR, on their websites and in printed materials using these badly executed, low-res amateur efforts.

Photography is the best way to establish your brand and an essential business investment don’t scrimp on it just because your friend big Dave from the warehouse says he can do the job for 100 quid on his point and shoot.

If you value your product, brand and company in any way; if you care about your consumers, you should get professional photography done to help correctly launch your brand into the eyes of the world.

MY STOCK IS BIGGER THAN YOUR STOCK, STOCK SUKA

There could also be a temptation to choose this easy mutha fuka of an option and jump on to the nearest STOCK BLOCK website, like Shutterstock, istockphoto or fotolia, and spend hours trying to dig around for something half decent. Three things to consider first amigo:

UNO. Unless you’re skilled, your choices will not represent your business very well.

DOS. Stock images aren’t yours, they are used by countless other companies, and therefore you will LOOK LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

TRES. Stock images look like like stock images. They are generic and communicate fuck all about your business.

Oh and forgot one more thing, they aren’t authentic, they are lies to your customer.

WHAT’S YOUR STORY

Powerful images are a combination of an idea, a story and then technical execution. These pictures will help tell your story and communicate your brands message to your audience.

The story is what’s going to get people excited about your brand and it’s how you build a community, a fan base, a following, why would you not want this?

End of Story.
