Deep Web Language
The visual language of the deep web, hacked homepages and pop-up adverts is appropriated for a series of sites showcasing the work of acclaimed photographer and director Daniel Sannwald. Breaking with established conventions of viewing photography online, Daniel's new site is more akin to a series of artist editions, with the site automatically redirecting to a number of micro-sites hosted on individual domains. Inspired by the contexts in which Daniel’s work exists — billboards, music videos, spreads in Fashion magazines — the website highlights the multi-dimensional nature of Daniel's practice.
The experience is jarring as you fired from one site to the next and a series of juddering screens are pulled into place. We're still not actually sure how you're meant to get hold of Daniel but the way the site work is really cool.
